ENTRY-LEVEL FACADE ARCHITECT / EIT – SAN FRANCISCO
Heintges San Francisco has opportunities for an early career architect or EIT, who is excited to develop specialized expertise in building enclosure.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional or graduate degree in Architecture or Civil Engineering
- 1-2 years of work experience in a professional practice
- Naturally gravitates towards technical aspects of design
- Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative, persistence, and independence
- Perceptive, with the capacity to make good judgments and prioritize the best interests of a project.
- Efficient with time management and able to balance work on multiple projects
- Thrives with in-person collaboration
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Confident communicating through hand sketches and computer drafting
- Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D visualization software
- Detail oriented and flexible
- Accuracy in drafting and picking up red-lines and comments on details
- Excited by the process of seeing buildings built
- Interested in working in the field, observing installation on construction sites
- Confidence with driving independently to test labs and jobsites, which can be 3+ hrs.
- Interest in pursuit of Architectural or PE licensure
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE DEVELOPED OVER TIME TO INCLUDE:
- Interpreting and executing architectural design intent
- Effectively summarizing technical concepts for design team coordination
- Designing, engineering, and detailing of exterior wall systems
- Energy performance modeling and analyzing results
- In-depth research of materials, processes, and systems
- Writing specifications
- Participating in external client and design team meetings
- Reviewing contractor proposals, shop drawings, and other submittals
- Witnessing performance mock-up testing
- Inspecting quality of prefabricated materials at factories
- Inspecting progress on site
- Writing reports
Starting salary range: $60,000 - 68,000
